Our SVPs collect food for the hungry, can you spare a tin a week for this also some toiletries? These can be left in the boxes at the
back of our churches. The Lord tells us to feed the hungry, so thank you all for your donations which are sincerely appreciated.

Deanery day of renewal. Saturday 8th November 11.30 am to 3.45 pm in St. Aelred’s church hall, Speaker is Jones Bediako. The theme of his talk is “Suffering in Christ.” Until recently Jones was a member of the National service team for Catholic Charismatic Renewal and is chairperson of the Leeds Diocesan service team
Friendship Groups: St Mary’s Friendship Group meet Monday afternoons from 1.30pm to 3pm with refreshments and good cake! All most welcome. St Aelred’s Friendship Group meet on the third Wednesday of each month at 1.30pm – 3.30pm all most welcome.
The Sacrament of Confirmation: will be celebrated, by Bishop Marcus, on Wednesday 25th February 2026, 7pm, at St Aelred’s. All Year 6 students and above are invited to apply for the sacrament. Please see Fr Gerard, Deacon David or Deacon Philip for an application form.
St Aelred’s annual Christmas Fair will take place on Sunday 30th November following 9am Mass. We need donations of bottles, chocolate and cakes on the day. The annual raffle tickets are on sale this weekend.

Thank you for supporting CAFOD’s Family Fast Day! Your donations in our parish collection and online are helping families like Waré’s in Ethiopia. CAFOD’s local partners worked with Waré’s community to build an underground water tank that now provides safe water for 300 families. St. Mary’s singers have their Praise joint concert with the Silver Band coming up on 25th October - an afternoon concert, £10 children are free.
