Food Bank: A TIN A WEEK: Our SVPs collect food for the hungry, can you spare a tin a week for this, also some toiletries? These can be left in the boxes at the back of our churches. The Lord tells us to feed the hungry, so thank you all for your donations which are sincerely appreciated.

Mass intentions gratefully received using the brown envelopes in both churches. All Mass intentions must be made via the brown envelopes in the narthex and a cash donation placed in them or use the tab on the Dona machine. Please give at least 2 weeks’ notice to facilitate a special day.

Would you like to be part of ensuring our Bed Race Café is a huge success and meet new people and support a fantastic community cause? We are looking for volunteers to donate cakes, buns and biscuits and help set up and volunteer on the day. The church will be open: (for cake drop off and set up), Friday 13th: 5:00pm – 6:30pm and Saturday 14th: 9:00am – 11:00am. We would love volunteers from both St Mary’s and St Aelred’s parishes to come together, build new friendships and create a wonderful community spirit.

St Aelred’s Church will be holding their summer fayre on Sunday 28th June after 9am Mass. Please come along and join in on the fun, games, food and beverages! If you have any donations for the raffle or bottle tombola then please leave at the back of Church, raffle tickets will be on sale soon. Many thanks!

To celebrate the retirement of the lovely Headteacher Miss Collins, St Robert’s School will be hosting ‘Jillfest’ on Friday 26th June from 5.30 – 8.30pm. There will be live performances, games, bar and lots more! It would be great to see as many old and present families as possible. Existing Eucharistic Ministers For St Mary’s and St Aelred’s - (and anyone willing to become a Eucharistic minister) are invited to a meeting on: St Aelred’s Eucharistic Ministers - Wednesday 3rd June 2026 at 7pm, St Aelred’s Parish Hall and for St Mary’s Eucharistic Ministers - Thursday 4th June 2026 at 7pm, St Mary’s Parish Hall. We will be discussing the role of Eucharistic ministers, reviewing best practice and considering how to prepare for the distribution of the Chalice at all weekend masses. If you cannot attend this meeting please let Fr Gerard, Deacon David or Deacon Philip know.

The SVP are having an over 60s afternoon tea party in the hall at St Joseph's Bilton, on Tuesday 19th May from 1pm till 3pm. Alongside delicious sandwiches and cakes, there will be bingo and entertainment from St Joseph’s Primary School. A great opportunity to meet people and have some fun! Also, it’s free! Please sign the list on the notice board or tell one of your Parish SVP members you would like to attend by Friday 8th May.

Celebration of Married Life on Saturday 16th May , there will be a special Celebration Mass for Married Life at Leeds Cathedral at 12 Noon for couples and their families celebrating their 25th (Silver), 40th (Ruby), 50th (Golden), 60th (Diamond) and 70th (Platinum) wedding anniversaries this year. There will be an opportunity for couples, who wish to do so, to renew their marriage vows during the liturgy. If you are celebrating the anniversary of your wedding and you would like to take part in this celebration, please fill out the application form which is available at the back of church.

The Chapel Of Our Lady of the Crag in Knaresborough - We are a small group of local people who hold the Chapel of Our Lady of the Crag in Trust. We are in need of more trustees, gardeners, volunteers and fundraisers to help us in our mission to keep this unique site open to visitors. The Chapel is now open 2-4pm (provided the weather is clement) until the end of September and by appointment at other times. Please see our website for more details: www.ourladyofthecrag.org/
