Food Bank: A TIN A WEEK: Our SVPs collect food for the hungry, can you spare a tin a week for this, also some toiletries? These can be left in the boxes at the back of our churches. The Lord tells us to feed the hungry, so thank you all for your donations which are sincerely appreciated.

Mass intentions gratefully received using the brown envelopes in both churches. All Mass intentions must be made via the brown envelopes in the narthex and a cash donation placed in them or use the tab on the Dona machine. Please give at least 2 weeks’ notice to facilitate a special day.

Return to the city streets on Sunday 28th June and Sunday 5th July 2026. There will be two twilight performances in the Market on Tuesday 30th June and Wednesday 1st July 2026. There is also a special performance of the Journey to Calvary on Saturday 4th July at 2pm at The Bar Convent, Blossom Street. St Aelred’s Summer Fayre will be on Sunday 28th June after 9am Mass. All welcome! To ensure the fayre is a success, we rely on the kind generosity and support of our Parishioners. Please leave any brand new raffle prizes including vouchers or bottles at the back of Church. If you are able to spare the time and able to man a stall, please sign up at the back of Church and take a raffle ticket (or 2!) as you leave Mass.

To celebrate the retirement of the lovely Headteacher Miss Collins, St Robert’s School will be hosting ‘Jillfest’ on Friday 26th June from 5.30 – 8.30pm. There will be live performances, games, bar and lots more! It would be great to see as many old and present families as possible. We are looking for volunteers to donate cakes, buns and biscuits and help set up and volunteer on the day. The church will be open: (for cake drop off and set up), Friday 12th: 5:00pm – 6:30pm and Saturday 13th: 9:00am – 11:00am. Bed Race Cafe Bottle stall and Tombola - We are also in need of gifts and bottles, at St Mary’s, for our annual fund raiser. Any donations will be gratefully received, thank you.

Friends of St Mary's School - Are holding their annual quiz in the church hall on Friday 5th June . The fabulous Geoff will be hosting. It is £10 per person to include the quiz and a curry. Please bring along your own drinks. Maximum of 8 per team. Starts at 7 30pm. Steph will be selling tickets after mass on Sunday 24th May and 31st May. Please bring cash. Thank you so much for supporting our school fundraiser!

Existing Eucharistic Ministers For St Mary’s and St Aelred’s - (and anyone willing to become a Eucharistic minister) are invited to a meeting on: St Aelred’s Eucharistic Ministers - Wednesday 3rd June 2026 at 7pm, St Aelred’s Parish Hall and for St Mary’s Eucharistic Ministers - Thursday 4th June 2026 at 7pm , St Mary’s Parish Hall. We will be discussing the role of Eucharistic ministers, reviewing best practice and considering how to prepare for the distribution of the Chalice at all weekend masses. If you cannot attend this meeting please let Fr Gerard, Deacon David or Deacon Philip know.
