Elizabeth Prout Bereavement Care are offering a two-day training course in bereavement accompaniment on Mondays 22nd & 29th June 2026 at The Briery Retreat Centre in Ilkley. Celebration of Married Life on Saturday 16th May , there will be a special Celebration Mass for Married Life at Leeds Cathedral at 12 Noon for couples and their families celebrating their 25th (Silver), 40th (Ruby), 50th (Golden), 60th (Diamond) and 70th (Platinum) wedding anniversaries this year. There will be an opportunity for couples, who wish to do so, to renew their marriage vows during the liturgy. If you are celebrating the anniversary of your wedding and you would like to take part in this celebration, please fill out the application form which is available at the back of church.
Deanery day of renewal. Saturday 9th May 11.30 am to 3.45 pm at St. Aelred’s church hall.  The Speaker will be Fr. Chris Thomas. The theme of the day is Baptism in the Spirit. The day includes session 5 of the Life in the Spirit seminars and praying for Baptism in the Spirit. Everyone is welcome to take part. American Style Ceilidh - Saturday 25th April 7.30pm The next in our popular twice-yearly series will be at St Wilfrid's church hall, Duchy Rd. Come and dance to a top class live band. Sociable and fun. No previous dance experience needed - our expert dance caller will explain everything. This event is open to the public - bring your friends from outside the parish. Tickets £12 / £6 on the door. Tea, coffee & cake in the interval. No licensed bar but you can bring your own drinks if you wish.
Martial Arts training day - in American Kenpo Karate and Combat Arnis for teens and adults. Instruction by Darren Davis 5th Degree Combat Arnis and Damian Abbott 8th Degree American Kenpo Karate. Times 11am – 3pm at St Mary’s parish hall Knaresborough on Saturday the 25th of April. £30 for the public but £20 for parishioners. Divine Mercy Sunday April 12th This will be celebrated at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church Skipton Road, Harrogate. 2pm Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament with confession. 3pm Prayer of Chaplet of Divine Mercy. Benediction and veneration of the Holy Image. All very welcome.
