CAFOD Chocolate Raffle

We have had lots of generous chocolate donations so far and have created some beautiful chocolate hampers – so a big thank you! Krista Gray will be selling raffle tickets for the chocolate raffle this Sunday and next after Mass at St Aelred’s and Anna Dimond at St Mary’s, please contact them if you would like a ticket. Any additional chocolate donations will be gratefully received. Raffle will be drawn on

Our Summer Laudato Si’ Mini-Pilgrimage was on Saturday 9th August 11am Mass at St Mary’s Catholic Church, Knaresborough & guided walk to St Robert’s Cave and Chapel of Our Lady of the Crag. for the Jubilee of Hope Photos below:
St Mary’s Mass for the sick and housebound with the Sacrament of the sick will be held at 3pm on Sunday 7th September . All most welcome. Tea and cake will be served after Mass. St Aelred’s Mass will be held in late September.

St Mark’s way on the national jubilee pilgrimage of hope: begins on Saturday, 6th September with 8am Mass at Leeds Cathedral. Wall all or part of the way between the Cathedral and the Jubilee Pilgrimage Church of St Austin in Wakefield. See Diocesan website for details of how to sign up.
Our SVPs collect food for the hungry, can you spare a tin a week for this also some toiletries? These can be left in the boxes at the  back of our churches. The Lord tells us to feed the hungry, so thank you all for your donations which are sincerely appreciated.
Friendship Groups: St Mary’s Friendship Group meet Monday afternoons from 1.30pm to 3pm with refreshments and good cake! All most welcome. St Aelred’s Friendship Group meet on the third Wednesday of each month at 1.30pm – 3.30pm all most welcome.
The winning numbers for the June draw: - £40 - 182, £25 - 94, £20 - 26, £15 - 69. The winning cheques can be collected from the notice board. Congratulations to the winners and thank you to everyone who supports the 200 club.

Mass intentions gratefully received using the brown envelopes in both churches. All Mass intentions must be made via the brown envelopes in the narthex and a cash donation placed in them or use the tab on the Dona machine. Please give at least 2 weeks’ notice to facilitate a special day.
