Christmas Nativity at St Aelred’s

Would your child like to take part in this year’s nativity at St Aelred’s? All ages welcome and talking and non-talking parts available! The nativity will be carried out during the 9am Mass on Christmas day. Celebration of Married Life on Saturday 16th May , there will be a special Celebration Mass for Married Life at Leeds Cathedral at 12 Noon for couples and their families celebrating their 25th (Silver), 40th (Ruby), 50th (Golden), 60th (Diamond) and 70th (Platinum) wedding anniversaries this year. There will be an opportunity for couples, who wish to do so, to renew their marriage vows during the liturgy. If you are celebrating the anniversary of your wedding and you would like to take part in this celebration, please fill out the application form which is available at the back of church.

Divine Mercy Sunday April 12th This will be celebrated at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church Skipton Road, Harrogate. 2pm Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament with confession. 3pm Prayer of Chaplet of Divine Mercy. Benediction and veneration of the Holy Image. All very welcome.

American Style Ceilidh - Saturday 25th April 7.30pm The next in our popular twice-yearly series will be at St Wilfrid's church hall, Duchy Rd. Come and dance to a top class live band. Sociable and fun. No previous dance experience needed - our expert dance caller will explain everything. This event is open to the public - bring your friends from outside the parish. Tickets £12 / £6 on the door. Tea, coffee & cake in the interval. No licensed bar but you can bring your own drinks if you wish.

Thanks to your kindness and enthusiasm, we raised a wonderful £236, all of which will go directly to supporting the work of CAFOD. Your generosity truly makes a difference

As part of the consultation currently taking place across our two Dioceses, there is an opportunity for all clergy, religious and members of the lay faithful to contribute by completing an online questionnaire, either individually or as a parish group. Prayerful reflection should be given to the questions so that the Holy Spirit may guide this process of discernment. Prayer resources and a presentation are available on the diocesan website to support this process. Responses should be submitted no later than Friday, 22nd May 2026. Thank you to all who have donated to the fund. Donations have raised £1830.00 plus monthly income of £595.00. We now have a total of £55,000 towards the repairs to the church.

Palm Sunday Masses as usual. Wednesday 1st April Mass of Chrism at Leeds Cathedral 11am – all welcome. Holy Thursday: Evening Mass of the Lord’s Supper 7pm St Aelred’s with watching at the Altar of repose until 9pm. Good Friday 11am Family Stations of the Cross St Aelred’s 3pm The Lord’s Passion at both churches. Holy Saturday Easter Vigil 7pm at St Mary’s. Easter Sunday usual Sunday Masses.
