Youth 2000 summer festival 2025

Taking place at Ampleforth College from Friday 22nd - Monday 25th August, the Youth 2000 Summer Festival provides young adults (aged 16-35) from across the UK the opportunity to come together and explore faith, build relationships and find hope. St Mary’s Mass for the sick and housebound with the Sacrament of the sick will be held at 3pm on Sunday 7th September . All most welcome. Tea and cake will be served after Mass. St Aelred’s Mass will be held in late September.

St Mark’s way on the national jubilee pilgrimage of hope: begins on Saturday, 6th September with 8am Mass at Leeds Cathedral. Wall all or part of the way between the Cathedral and the Jubilee Pilgrimage Church of St Austin in Wakefield. See Diocesan website for details of how to sign up.

Our SVPs collect food for the hungry, can you spare a tin a week for this also some toiletries? These can be left in the boxes at the  back of our churches. The Lord tells us to feed the hungry, so thank you all for your donations which are sincerely appreciated.

Friendship Groups: St Mary’s Friendship Group meet Monday afternoons from 1.30pm to 3pm with refreshments and good cake! All most welcome. St Aelred’s Friendship Group meet on the third Wednesday of each month at 1.30pm – 3.30pm all most welcome.

Mass intentions gratefully received using the brown envelopes in both churches. All Mass intentions must be made via the brown envelopes in the narthex and a cash donation placed in them or use the tab on the Dona machine. Please give at least 2 weeks’ notice to facilitate a special day.

Saturday 27th September We are joining the Diocesan Pilgrimage to Walsingham. The coach will leave Harrogate at about 6.15am arriving in time for Mass at 12 noon followed by procession along the Holy Mile and Benediction in the Abbey grounds. We will return to Harrogate about 10pm. Packed lunch will be needed, and we are hoping to plan a stop for fish and chips at the seaside on our return journey.
