Invitation to the Retirement Mass of St Robert’s Headteacher

Saturday 13th June 11.30 am to 3.45 pm in St. Aelred’s church hall. Speaker is Rev. Michelle Lepine. The title of her talk is” Repair shop -The power of Jesus to restore us.” All most welcome.

Are appealing for small electrical appliances, working or broken: kettles, toasters, microwaves, hair dryers etc. Please leave at St Aelred’s in the Library area or in St Mary's Narthex. For more information please ring the relevant SVP number.

Mass intentions gratefully received using the brown envelopes in both churches. All Mass intentions must be made via the brown envelopes in the narthex and a cash donation placed in them or use the tab on the Dona machine. Please give at least 2 weeks’ notice to facilitate a special day.

Return to the city streets on Sunday 28th June and Sunday 5th July 2026. There will be two twilight performances in the Market on Tuesday 30th June and Wednesday 1st July 2026. There is also a special performance of the Journey to Calvary on Saturday 4th July at 2pm at The Bar Convent, Blossom Street. We are looking for volunteers to donate cakes, buns and biscuits and help set up and volunteer on the day. The church will be open: (for cake drop off and set up), Friday 12th: 5:00pm – 6:30pm and Saturday 13th: 9:00am – 11:00am. Bed Race Cafe Bottle stall and Tombola - We are also in need of gifts and bottles, at St Mary’s, for our annual fund raiser. Any donations will be gratefully received, thank you.

To celebrate the retirement of the lovely Headteacher Miss Collins, St Robert’s School will be hosting ‘Jillfest’ on Friday 26th June from 5.30 – 8.30pm. There will be live performances, games, bar and lots more! It would be great to see as many old and present families as possible. The St Mary’s Summer BBQ will take place on Sunday 5th July following the 10.30am Mass. Tickets on sale soon.

Food Bank: A TIN A WEEK: Our SVPs collect food for the hungry, can you spare a tin a week for this, also some toiletries? These can be left in the boxes at the back of our churches. The Lord tells us to feed the hungry, so thank you all for your donations which are sincerely appreciated.

Friends of St Mary's School - Are holding their annual quiz in the church hall on Friday 5th June . The fabulous Geoff will be hosting. It is £10 per person to include the quiz and a curry. Please bring along your own drinks. Maximum of 8 per team. Starts at 7 30pm. Steph will be selling tickets after mass on Sunday 24th May and 31st May. Please bring cash.
